Welcome Messages

Dr. Debora Garozzo

President of the Conference
Vice president of the Emirates Society Neurological Surgeons
UAE

Dear friends,

It is with immense pleasure that we announce that the 8th annual conference of the Emirates Society of Neurological Surgeons (ESNS) will take place in Dubai on 9, 10 and 11 December 2022.

The conference was initially scheduled for December 2020 yet, due to the unfortunate circumstances that swept away the planet, we were obliged to postpone this scientific event that represents an essential moment of aggregation for all the neurosurgeons in the region. We are back on track now and we have resumed our work with even more enthusiasm and passion than before. During these long two years, we have treasured the professional lessons that Covid 19 taught us and we have learned a lot from these difficult times. One of the main goals for the future is that we need to level out the inequalities that plague the world, in particular in healthcare; therefore “Bridging the gap between L/MI and HI countries ” is the theme we have chosen for this year.

Pursuing our ongoing commitment towards scientific collaboration and improvement of neurosurgical practice, in the true spirit that characterizes UAE, we are extremely proud to announce that this year 5 neurosurgical societies will support the meeting: the Nigerian Academy of Neurological Surgeons, the Ethiopian Society of Neurosurgery, the Israeli Neurosurgical Society, the Nepalese Society of Neurosurgeons, the Gulf Neurosurgical Society.

In addition to the delegates of these societies, we have the privilege to welcome a distinguished group of keynote speakers that are internationally well known for their expertise.

The conference will provide a platform for exchange and sharing experience for the delegates and participants: presentations on every neurosurgical subspecialty are welcome and will receive attention in our scientific program. The third day of the conference will focus on pediatric neurosurgery only.

In addition to a promising scientific event that will certainly enrich Your knowledge and baggage of professional experience, You will have the chance to visit of the most amazing cities in the world; Dubai has transformed once again and will certainly mesmerize You with her incredible, bustling rhythm.

We look forward to learning from Your experience and welcoming You in Dubai!

Dr. Mohammed Al Olama

President of the Emirates Society
of Neurological Surgeons
and Gulf Neurosurgical Society
UAE

General secretary of Arab Pediatric Neurosurgical Society and Treasurer of Asian Australasian Society of Neurological Surgery.

Dear colleagues,

It is with enormous pride that I announce that the Emirates Society of Neurological Surgeons (ESNS) will host its 8th annual conference in Dubai in the incoming December 2022.

The difficult times that we all lived over the last 2 years have finally come to an end and we are ready to welcome you again.

From its birth in 2013, the ESNS has always been extremely committed to collaborate and network with other societies.

The Emirates Society of Neurological Surgeons had already collaborated with prestigious international neurosurgical societies in the past. This year, I am extremely happy to see that our international network further reaches out and has been enriched by the collaboration of 2 African Societies (the Nigerian Academy of Neurological Surgeons and the Ethiopian Society of Neurosurgery) and two Asian Societies (the Israeli Neurosurgical Society and the Nepalese Society of Neurosurgeons).

Our conferences have always offered a comprehensive learning experience and we have no doubts that this year the same spirit that animated the past scientific events will be maintained.

The benchmark of our city is the high standard of hospitality and we are sure that this aspect will contribute to make Your visit to Dubai unforgettable.

We look forward to seeing You in Dubai!

Goodwill Message from Nigerian Academy of Neurological Surgeons

The Nigerian Academy of Neurological Surgeons (NANS) wishes to congratulate the Emirate Society of Neurological Surgeons (ESNS) on the International Neurosurgical Conference holding in Dubai UAE.
We, indeed, acknowledge the interest and support which ESNS has given to some of our members in the past. We are particularly excited that NANS has been invited to collaborate with ESNS at this conference taking place from 9 to 11th of December, 2022.
The theme of this conference is very apt at a time like this.
The challenges of providing neurological services are enormous in the Low-Income Countries (LIC) and very different from the High Income Countries (HIC). It includes a dearth of neurological centers, late presentation, lack of high-end equipment to make surgeries safe, poverty in the region, etc.
All these are known to have a significant impact on the morbidity and mortality from neurological diseases which, also, affects the willingness from the patients to assent to surgical procedures when there are indications.
It is our desire that this friendship and partnership will continue, as we hope to gradually bridge the gap between the LIC and HIC, and provide quality neurosurgical services in Nigeria.
Once again, on behalf of the entire members of NANS, we wish you a happy deliberation at the conference.

Jude-Kennedy C Emejulu

President, NANS

Goodwill Message from Israeli Neurosurgical Society

The Israeli Neurosurgical Society (INS) is humbled and proud to be invited to participate at the “8th Annual Emirates International Neurosurgical Conference 2022” held in Dubai this coming December, thus deepening our connection with the Emirates Neurosurgical Society.
This Conference bears additional importance for us as it provides with the unique opportunity to flesh out and realize the “Abraham Accords” which were signed with the stated goal of creating scientific, economic and cultural cooperation’s between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, further magnified by the recently held and highly successful 16th Asian Australasian Congress of Neurological Surgeons (AACNS 2022) in Jerusalem, Israel, which brought together 1000 participants from 59 countries, including respected delegates from the United Arab Emirates who contributed greatly to the Meeting’s scientific program and consequently, it’s success.
The Conference’s theme: “Bridging the gap between low/middle and high income countries in Neurosurgery” is a goal we hold in very high regard, being a member country of the Asian Australasian Society of Neurological Surgeons (AASNS), and are committed to advancing the practice of neurosurgery across globe in all manners possible.
We are greatly looking forward to the top-tier scientific and social exchange between the hosting and attending societies of this wonderful event.

President of the INS

Goodwill Message from Nepalese Society of Neurosurgeons

The Nepalese Society of Neurosurgeons would like to thank the ESNS for their invitation to participate 8th Emirates International Neurosurgical Conference in December, 2022.
The Nepalese Society of Neurosurgeons (NESON) was established about 15 years back; at that time there were hardly few countable neurosurgeons in the country. However, over this relatively short period of time from its foundation, the society has come a long way and now there are many neurosurgeons working in different sectors, government hospital, private hospitals, medical institutes and university hospitals etc. Even though a major chunk of neurosurgeons are located in capital city, Kathmandu, many more are scattered throughout the country and neurosurgical service has become more easily affordable and accessible for the public now. We feel proud to say that Nepal has become a country with highest proportion of neurosurgeon: population ratio in South Asia.
Most of our neurosurgeons are well exposed in international conferences every year and our residents are also getting high-tech training in various parts of the world.
In this scenario, it will be our great pleasure and honor to get involved in and collaborate with the Emirates Society of Neurological surgeons in this international conference; numerous participants from Nepal will participate and present papers. We fully believe the conference will be highly educational to all and extremely successful in obtaining the goal as mentioned in the theme "Bridging the gap between low/middle and high income countries in Neurosurgery.
Moreover, Dubai is a beautiful city and we are sure that all the participants will enjoy it thoroughly besides attending the conference.
Once again, NESON would like to thank ESNS for their invitation, wishing them huge success of the conference.

Prabin Shrestha

President of Nepalese Society
of Neurosurgeons (NESON)
